Warrenton scored three first quarter touchdowns and pitched a defensive shutout to place an exclamation mark on their good common season.
Warrenton (9-0, 4-0 GAC North) beat Mexico 35-0 to complete the common season unbeaten.
The Warriors scored on their opening drive to take an early 7-0 lead. Charlie Blondin threw a 20-yard landing cross to a large open Joe Goldsmith. After Warrenton stopped Mexico on fourth down on their ensuing drive, Austin Haas scored on a 73-yard speeding landing on Warrenton’s second play from scrimmage on their second drive. Blondin threw a 42-yard landing cross to Mason Thompson on the ultimate play of the quarter to offer Warrenton the 21-0 lead.
Blondin threw a 2-yard landing cross to Peyton Dawson within the second quarter. Warrenton led 28-0 at halftime.
Warrenton scored the lone landing of the second half within the last minute of the third quarter. Haas scored on a 3-yard landing run.
The Warrenton protection stopped Mexico contained in the 5-yard line on the finish of the sport to protect the shutout.
Warrenton will start the Class 4, District 4 event subsequent week. The Warriors’ opponent has not but been introduced.
