After initially giving Peyton Hendershot no gameday designation for an NFC showdown at AT&T Stadium on Thursday, the Cowboys later modified the second-year tight finish’s standing to questionable.

Whether or not or not the 24-year-old is activated to the 53-man roster in time to face the Seahawks, a choice will must be made quickly on the rest of his 2023 season.

Hendershot has been on injured reserve on account of an ankle damage he suffered in follow on Sept. 29. After his 21-day activation window was opened on Nov. 15, the Indiana native reported that he felt “recent” and was “keen to maneuver round on the follow discipline once more.”

However now the Cowboys are nearing the tip of his follow window. If Hendershot isn’t moved again to the lively roster- which is able to necessitate another person shedding their spot- the Cowboys can be compelled to position him again on injured reserve, this time formally ending his season.

The 6-foot-4-inch Hendershot has only one catch on two targets for 3 yards so far this season. He dropped a certain landing cross in Week 1 and was stuffed on a goal-line rush in Week 2.

In his absence, fellow tight finish Jake Ferguson has tallied the second-most receptions of all Cowboys gamers this season, for a third-best yardage complete and 4 touchdowns, tied with Brandin Cooks and trailing solely CeeDee Lamb.

Rookie tight finish Luke Schoonmaker has performed over a 3rd of the crew’s offensive snaps; Sean McKeon has been on the sphere for practically 100 snaps over the eight video games that Hendershot has missed.
